Enterprise application administration on both Windows and Linux
Production experience delivering upgrades/platform changes

Full Description

Automation Engineer

Work pattern: Hybrid, 50% on site

Location: City of London

IR35 determination: Inside

Rate: up to £400 per day

Duration: 6 months + ext

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities.
Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements.
Administer applications deployed on Windows and Linux environments.
Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues.
Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes.
Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
Build CI/CD deployment pipelines.
Promote Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.

Essential Criteria Strong experience administering enterprise applications on both Windows and Linux. Experience delivering applications and platform upgrades in production environments. Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible. Experience with application servers, middleware and databases. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Desirable Criteria Experience integrating Artifactory, Xray and SonarQube into CI/CD pipelines. Experience with application release management, dependency management and repository governance. Experience designing, implementing and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines. Monitoring and observability tools
