About The Role
The Quality Engineer (CMM Specialty) at 804 Technology plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our manufacturing processes. This position involves programming and operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to inspect and measure products, materials, components, and parts, ensuring compliance with stringent quality and reliability standards. The role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, including analyzing reports and defective products to identify trends and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve inspection procedures, perform complex quality assurance tests, and lead root cause analysis initiatives. This is a contract position with a duration of six months, offering an opportunity to contribute significantly to our quality assurance processes and gain valuable industry experience.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Demonstrated expertise in quality engineering processes, regulatory requirements, and advanced knowledge of GD&T and Quality Management Systems (QMS) is essential. Proficiency in operating and programming CMM equipment at a professional level is required. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to exercise independent judgment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate findings. Familiarity with PC software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SAP, and CRM is expected. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a globally dispersed team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Quality department in implementing standards, methods, and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation of products to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. Perform complex quality assurance tests and inspections on products, components, and materials. Operate and program CMM equipment to measure and inspect parts accurately. Lead root cause analysis for process-related issues, analyze process audit results, and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions. Establish and verify quality requirements to ensure that delivered products meet design specifications and reliability standards. Develop and implement cost-effective methods to improve product quality within established budgets. Approve manufacturing processes, test instructions, and specifications to ensure conformance to program quality requirements. Conduct quality audits across various processes to ensure compliance with standards and procedures. Provide expertise and support on complex quality issues, acting as a professional resource for colleagues and teams. Collaborate with teams in Quality Systems, Supplier Quality Assurance, or Project Product Assurance as assigned. Maintain regular, punctual attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, or additional hours as required.
