**Top 3 responsibilities: **

  • Lead and grow a QA automation/testing team (25–50 resources), aligned to US dotted-line quality leads.

  • Define/execute quality engineering strategy: testing SOPs, KPIs, best practices (quality, reliability, reusability, telemetry), defect troubleshooting.

  • Drive modernization/operational excellence: automation adoption, monitoring for performance/availability/security/capacity, support agile/devops delivery and vendor/internal coordination.

  • Must-have skills:

    • 9+ years SDLC experience; 5+ years management of technical teams in Agile.

    • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation; ability to influence across org levels.

    • Expertise in test design, defect management, automation framework development; hands-on enterprise UI/back-end QA.

    • JIRA or equivalent test management; experience with large-scale testing initiatives.

    • Healthcare IT knowledge and compliance awareness.

    • Agile leadership in Scrum teams; troubleshooting and rapid issue resolution.

We’re looking for a leader that will be responsible for leading a quality engineering group within Core Tech in our Hyderabad Center to deliver on strategic business capabilities as well as modernize the current solution. This role will be responsible for quality engineering in the HIH Center for Core Tech.

As a Operations Reliability Manager, you will build and develop a world-class quality engineering team of 25-50 resources with the goal of creating next-generation capabilities that will help make Cigna the undisputed health partner of choice. You will work in an agile environment leading a team of software engineers and managers, delivering user-oriented products in a fast–paced environment. The resources aligned to this leader will dotted line into our US based quality engineering leads. This role will report to the Core Tech HIH – Associate Director (Operations Reliability).

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction to the QA automation and testing teams. Drive Testing SOP and KPI Framework by carefully monitoring and ensuring implementation Work with vendors and internal stakeholders for multiple projects as a horizontal Define and execute quality engineering strategies aligned with overall technology and business goals. Lead troubleshooting efforts, ensuring rapid resolution of defects and issues. Establish and enforce engineering best practices focused on quality, reliability, reusability, and telemetry. Build strong relationships with Core Tech stakeholders to align testing strategies with application requirements. Drive modernization initiatives by identifying scalable improvements in tools, technologies, and methodologies. Ensure operational excellence within Agile and DevOps frameworks. Maintain proactive monitoring and management of application assets, ensuring performance, availability, security, and capacity. Optimize testing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and automation adoption across the teams.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing cross-functional QA teams in an Agile environment.
  • Expertise in test design, defect management, and automation framework development.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA or other test management tool
  • Proven ability to drive large-scale QA and testing initiatives for both UI and backend systems.
  • Experience in Healthcare IT with an understanding of industry terminology, processes, and compliance.
  • Strong Agile experience with practical leadership in Scrum teams.

Required Experience & Education

  • 9+ years of experience in SDLC methodologies.
  • 5+ years of management experience, leading and developing technical teams.
  • Experience in vendor management within an onshore/offshore model.
  • Expertise in architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise testing solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Industry certifications such as Scrum Master, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with testing lifecycle.
  • Exposure to cloud-native distributed systems (AWS).
  • Experience of claims adjudication and claims lifecycle in healthcare.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring teams in best practices for QA automation.
