Responsibilities

The role encompasses, but is not restricted to, the following responsibilities

• Proactively engage with business users and product teams to thoroughly understand and analyse product requirements, translating them into clear, concise, and testable scenarios.
• Collaborate with products owners and teams to review detailed user stories, ensuring they are testable and accurately reflect business needs.
• Define test strategies, plans, and coverage for both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Implements scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API testing using tools such as Katalon, Selenium, Appium, Postman, JUnit, NUnit, or equivalent.
• Implement and maintain automated regression and smoke testing suites integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Execute test scripts and automated test runs during build pipelines and report results in Azure DevOps dashboards while maintaining effective test cases.
• Integrate automated tests within the DevSecOps pipeline, enabling continuous testing with every build and deployment.
• Implement security and performance testing as part of automated validation steps.
• Track and report testing KPIs, analyze software test results and recommends a course of action if necessary to ensure that standards demanded by the organization are maintained.
• Identify and recommend improvements to testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, and STLC.

Proficiency in automation frameworks such as

• Selenium / Cypress / Playwright / Appium / Detox / Katalon
• Postman / Newman / RestAssured
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Working knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Experience with test data management and mocking tools.
• Understanding of SQL and ability to validate data integrity across databases.
• Exposure to security and performance testing tools (OWASP ZAP, JMeter, etc.) is a plus.
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Commitment to automation-first and shift-left testing principles.
• Automation coverage ratio across modules.
• Reduction in manual regression efforts over time.
• Percentage of builds validated automatically in CI/CD pipeline.
• Defect detection rate pre-release vs post-release.
