How will you make an impact in this role? We are looking for a Test Analyst to join our Trust Payments Retail team — someone who brings both manual and automation experience, takes ownership of quality end-to-end and promotes quality at every stage of the software development lifecycle. You will work alongside the retail development and delivery teams to ensure the quality of our retail products, in line with our established test strategy and processes. The role covers both manual testing and automation work across Web, Mobile, and API — your skills in these areas will directly contribute to delivering a high-quality, reliable product. We are looking for someone assured in their abilities, comfortable contributing testing perspectives, raising concerns and championing quality.
What We Expect of You, Day To Day
- Analyse requirements and design test conditions covering both positive and negative scenarios
- Write and execute manual test cases, capture test results accurately and provide clear test evidence
- Design, build and maintain automated test scripts within our established automation frameworks, analyse results, contribute to continuous improvements in the automated test frameworks to remain current with industry developments
- Demonstrate new functionality and perform upskilling sessions for the team
- Raise defects and investigate failures to a high standard — working closely with developers when needed
- Uphold high standards of software quality across multiple projects, applying testing processes consistently and raising concerns about requirements that aren't fit for purpose
- Communicate testing progress clearly and consistently — providing updates in stand-ups and 1-2-1s, keeping both the development team and test management informed, and escalating risks or blockers promptly
- Work effectively both as part of a team and independently, adapting to shifting priorities and project timelines to support the wider team where needed

Core Experience 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or testing roles 1+ years of experience with automation testing tools (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, Appium, REST Assured) Experience with databases and SQL for test data management and result verification Understanding of Agile methodology and active participation in Agile ceremonies Experience using defect management tools such as Jira
Desirable Skills A degree in computing, mathematics, science, or a related field ISTQB Foundation level qualification or higher Experience with Java creating and executing reusable automated test scripts (Maven framework preferred) Experience with web service APIs (manual and automated) Experience using Cucumber and writing test scripts in Gherkin language Experience with JMeter or similar performance testing tools
