    • Design/build/maintain scalable automated test suites & frameworks for utility integrations

    • Automate end-to-end Meter-to-Bill/Meter-to-Cash business scenarios (including API/data validations)

    • Validate data flow across Smart Meter/AMI → MDM/VEE → CIS/Billing/Payments and perform regression in CI/CD

  • Must-have skills:

    • Strong utility Meter-to-Bill/Meter-to-Cash lifecycle knowledge (Meter Reading → MDM → Validation/Estimation → Consumption → Billing → Payments/Collections)

    • Hands-on UI automation (Selenium/Playwright/Cypress or similar)

    • API automation experience (Postman/REST Assured or equivalent)

    • SQL/database validation; verifying

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in the Utility domain, particularly in Meter-to-Cash / Meter-to-Billing processes. The candidate should have hands-on experience designing and implementing automation frameworks and testing complex integrations across meter data, billing, customer information, payments, and downstream utility systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the complete utility lifecycle, including Meter Reading → Meter Data Management → Validation/Estimation → Usage/Consumption → Billing → Payments/Collections.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for utility applications and integrations. Automate end-to-end Meter-to-Bill / Meter-to-Cash business scenarios. Validate data flow across Smart Meters/AMI, Head-End Systems, MDM, CIS, Billing, Payment and downstream systems. Perform functional, integration, regression, API, database, and end-to-end testing. Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Java/Python, Cucumber/BDD, or equivalent technologies. Automate REST/SOAP API testing using tools/frameworks such as Postman, REST Assured or equivalent. Perform backend/database validation using SQL. Validate meter reads, interval data, consumption calculations, VEE rules, billing determinants, tariffs, rates, billing calculations, adjustments, and exceptions. Validate integration between MDM and CIS/Billing platforms. Develop automated regression suites and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines. Analyze automation failures, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and work closely with development and business teams. Participate in requirement reviews and translate business requirements into comprehensive test scenarios. Create test plans, test cases, test data, traceability matrices, execution reports, and defect reports. Work within Agile/Scrum teams and participate in sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Utility Domain Experience – Must Have

Strong understanding of the utility Meter-to-Bill / Meter-to-Cash lifecycle, including

  • Meter / AMI → Head-End System → Meter Data Management (MDM) → VEE → Usage/Consumption → CIS → Rate Calculation → Billing → Payment / Collections

Candidate should have experience testing several of the following areas

  • Smart Meter / AMI integration
  • Meter installation, exchange, removal, and meter reads
  • Interval and scalar meter data

  • Validation, Estimation & Editing (VEE)
  • Usage and consumption calculation

  • Billing adjustments and rebilling

  • Service orders / field activities
  • Move-in / Move-out / Start-Stop Service
  • Payments, collections, and delinquency
  • Exception handling
  • Meter-to-Bill reconciliation
  • End-to-end data validation across utility systems
