Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to provide technical leadership and help shape enterprise-level automation across complex systems and multiple product lines.

This senior role is ideal for an automation specialist who can architect scalable frameworks, establish engineering standards, strengthen CI/CD quality practices, and mentor other automation engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable, maintainable, and reusable enterprise test automation frameworks

• Define and drive the organisation’s test automation strategy

• Evaluate and introduce new automation tools, technologies, and methodologies

• Architect web, API, service-level, and native mobile automation solutions

• Build mobile automation frameworks for iOS and Android using Appium and WebdriverIO

• Define cloud device-testing strategies using platforms such as BrowserStack

• Implement parallel execution, containerised testing, and cloud-based test infrastructure

• Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines

• Develop test-data management and automated data-provisioning solutions

• Optimise automation frameworks for speed, reliability, and maintainability

• Establish coding standards, design patterns, and automation best practices

• Conduct code reviews and lead proof-of-concept initiatives

• Define automation coverage, quality metrics, and reporting dashboards

• Analyse defects and test results to identify systemic quality risks

• Lead root-cause analysis and post-mortems for production defects

• Mentor automation engineers and facilitate technical knowledge-sharing sessions

• Collaborate with developers, technical leads, and architects to improve testability

• Perform manual testing when required

What you’ll need

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• A recognised test automation certification

• Five to eight years of hands-on automation testing experience

• Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks at scale

• Experience architecting native mobile automation across iOS and Android

• Strong experience with Appium, WebdriverIO, and cloud device farms such as BrowserStack

• Experience with API and service-level testing in distributed environments

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices, version control, and automated quality gates

• Experience working with databases, data-driven systems, and event-driven architectures

• Experience with cloud-based and containerised testing environments

• Understanding of performance, load, resilience, and other non-functional testing methods

• Experience managing complex test data and test environments

• Strong programming or scripting knowledge for test automation

Additional certifications in AWS or DevOps would be advantageous.
