Top 3 Responsibilities:

Design, create, maintain, execute API test cases/scripts/test data (functional, regression, integration, E2E)

Validate API behavior: requests/responses, business rules, data integrity, error handling; test positive/negative/boundary scenarios

Automate and troubleshoot: build automated regression suites, mock endpoints, analyze API logs, support defect fixes and regression

Must-have Skills:

Hands-on REST API testing (Postman or similar)

API test automation (Postman/Newman or similar)

Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST, JSON and API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger)

3+ years of experience in software QA/testing, with strong hands-on experience in API testing Strong experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools Hands-on experience with API test automation using Postman/Newman or similar tools Strong understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, REST, and JSON Experience validating API requests/responses, business rules, data integrity, and error handling Experience testing system integrations and data exchanges between internal and external systems Experience implementing mock API endpoints for end-to-end testing Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger and API documentation standards Experience analyzing API logs and troubleshooting integration issues Understanding of API authentication and authorization, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API Keys Experience with JavaScript for API testing or automation Experience creating comprehensive API test scenarios and test coverage Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Jenkins Exposure to performance, security, reliability, resilience, or scalability testing is an advantage Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Strong English communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate testing results, defects, risks, and technical issues
What will you do?
Design, create, maintain, and execute API test cases, test scripts, and test data Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end API testing Validate API requests and responses, business rules, data integrity, and data flows Test REST and event-driven integrations between internal and external systems Develop and maintain automated API regression test suites Use Postman/Newman or similar tools for API test automation Validate API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger and other interface specifications Test positive, negative, boundary, and error-handling scenarios Identify, document, prioritize, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle Work with developers to investigate API failures and integration issues Analyze API logs and provide evidence to support root-cause analysis Verify defect fixes and perform regression testing Support API performance, reliability, resilience, scalability, and security testing Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, and QA teams Support CI/CD testing activities and contribute to continuous improvement of API testing practices Prepare and communicate testing progress, quality status, risks, defects, and test results to stakeholders
