About The Role

The Quality Assurance Analyst I at EarthSoft is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to develop their skills in software testing within a dynamic team environment. As a member of the EarthSoft team, you will learn and understand the company’s core products, assist in testing bug fixes and new features, and ensure that deliverables meet client requirements and quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those with limited experience to gain hands-on experience in software quality assurance, working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to enhance product reliability and performance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement, contributing to the success of the team and the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 0–2+ years of software testing experience Basic understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices Basic functional knowledge of core products within one year Ability to learn quickly and retain information effectively Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)

Responsibilities

Execute test cases and document observed outcomes accurately and thoroughly Evaluate software behavior against requirements, use cases, and end-user expectations Perform exploratory testing to identify potential issues and areas for improvement Assist in identifying and developing test scenarios and test plans Contribute to test case design and test environment setup Support the writing and maintenance of automated tests, aligned with team priorities Utilize valid test data, configurations, and environments for all testing activities Write clear and reproducible bug reports, logging defects for developers’ review Assess and document bug severity, escalating issues through proper channels Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand end-user needs and testing requirements Track testing progress and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks Manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks based on project timelines Proactively communicate progress, blockers, and findings to team members Follow logical troubleshooting steps to isolate unexpected behaviors and identify root causes Interpret software log files and utilize various resources to resolve issues Adhere to company policies, procedures, and testing methodologies to maintain quality standards Participate in the implementation of testing tools and process improvements to enhance testing efficiency
