Instruments (preferred): Bench DMM, Oscilloscope, Power Supply Unit, Waveform Generator, Frequency Counter, Electronic Load (ELoad), DAQ.
Other languages: Additional programming languages for instrument control/automation (advantage).
Top 3 responsibilities:
1. Analyze product requirements and develop functional test solutions (test specification definition).
2. Design/implement test systems including fixture/hardware design, software development, and system integration.
3. Perform test performance characterization: coverage, calibration/programming functions, automation, repeatability/reliability, safety, ergonomics, supportability.
Must-have skills:
- Strong test methodologies knowledge
- Solid hardware fundamentals (e.g., drawing schematics, selecting test instruments)
- Proficiency with LabVIEW and NI TestStand
- Debugging and integration of test systems (coding, build support, startup support)
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience/control expertise with listed instruments (DMM, scope, PSUs, waveform gen, frequency counter, ELoad, DAQ)
- Additional programming languages for instrument automation
- Ability to collaborate with mechanical

We are looking for Test Development Engineer for functional test analysis focusing primarily on hardware design, software development, and mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement functional test solutions that satisfy the customer’s product requirement.
Development activities include test specification analysis, defining test specification, test system/fixture hardware design, software development, and mechanical design (by engaging with mechanical vendors).
Implementation activities include system integration, software coding and debugging, test system build support, installation, user training, and start-up support.
Test performance characterization includes test coverage, programming/calibration functions, automation, repeatability, reliability, safety, ergonomics, and supportability.

Requirements

BS degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or related fields with 0-3 years working experience. Fresh Graduate are welcome.
Know how on LabVIEW and Test Stand.
Strong familiarity in test methodologies.
Strong hardware knowledge & experience in drawing schematics, selecting instruments to perform test etc.

Preferred skills in testing instruments: Bench Digital Multimeter (DMM), Oscilloscope, Power Supply Unit, Waveform Generator, Frequency Counter, Electronic Load (ELoad) and Digital Acquisition (DAQ). Possess knowledge in other programming language, primarily in controlling and automating instruments is as added advantage. Willing to work onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
