Full Description

We are looking for an experienced Test Analyst II to perform advanced Quality Assurance testing for video games across PC, console, handheld, and online gaming environments.

This position builds on foundational game-testing responsibilities and introduces greater ownership of exploratory testing, complex defect investigation, test coverage, mentoring, and process improvement.

The successful candidate will work with development teams to identify difficult or low-frequency issues while helping less-experienced analysts develop stronger QA practices.

Key Responsibilities Execute advanced, exploratory, and regression testing across complex game features and systems. Identify, reproduce, investigate, and document complex defects, edge cases, and uncommon scenarios. Produce high-quality defect reports with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and appropriate prioritization. Work closely with developers to investigate issues and clarify expected fixes. Help refine testing methods and improve overall test coverage. Evaluate game functionality, performance, stability, playability, and balance. Adapt testing priorities based on the stage of the software development lifecycle. Identify emerging quality risks and communicate them effectively to QA and development stakeholders. Support post-release or post-project reviews and contribute recommendations for improving QA processes. Mentor junior test analysts and help strengthen their testing, troubleshooting, and defect-reporting skills. Share QA knowledge and best practices across the team. Stay current with testing technologies, methodologies, and relevant gaming platforms.

Must-Have Qualifications 3-5 years of Quality Assurance testing experience within the video game industry. Demonstrated experience with advanced testing techniques, including exploratory and regression testing. Strong knowledge of current PC and console gaming platforms, associated hardware, and online gaming environments. Experience using defect-tracking and/or test-management tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, TestRail, or comparable platforms. Understanding of video game development processes and how QA priorities change throughout the development lifecycle. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to investigate complex systems and identify potential root causes. Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior QA team members.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum development environments. Experience working with game engines and version-control systems. Experience contributing to broader QA process improvements. Experience coordinating testing priorities around development milestones and releases.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with QA scripting or test automation. Exposure to automation frameworks or tools used within game-testing environments. Experience contributing to project retrospectives or post-mortems.
