About the role

• We are looking for a mid-level SDET / Automation QA Engineer to join an international financial services technology environment and contribute to the quality of multiple software delivery streams.

This is a hands-on automation role. You will design and implement automated tests across UI, API and integration layers, while taking an end-to-end view of system quality. You will work closely with Developers, QA Leads, Product Owners and DevOps teams within an Agile environment.

Location: Bucharest | hybrid work model (2–3 days per week in the office)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain automated tests using C#, Playwright and NUnit.
• Cover both UI and API testing.
• Design end-to-end and integration tests across multiple systems.
• Test event-driven integrations such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Investigate issues using Azure Application Insights and KQL.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform functional, regression, integration and cross-browser testing.
• Work closely with Developers, QA, Product and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.
• Contribute to improving automation, QA processes and overall software quality.
• Keep up to date with modern testing practices and AI in the SDLC.

Your profile

• Proven experience as an SDET, Automation QA Engineer or Automation Tester.
• A strong communicator in English.
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and Playwright.
• Experience with NUnit and automated test framework development.
• Strong experience in UI and API automation / Postman and API testing.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum software delivery.
• Experience with Azure Application Insights and KQL is highly valuable.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD, ideally Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies and automation best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a nearshore environment and communicate effectively in English.
• ISTQB/ISEB certification is advantageous.
