Full Description
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), your mission is to engineer quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle of our Data Analytics Cloud Platform. You will combine software development and testing expertise to design testable solutions, build scalable automation frameworks and continuous testing capabilities, and provide objective evidence of product reliability. Working closely with Software Engineers, DevOps experts and the Project Manager, you will identify and mitigate technical and product risks early, strengthen the robustness of the Data Analytics Cloud Platform, and enable the team to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality software efficiently.
Main responsibilities
- Drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle, partnering closely with Software Engineers from design and implementation through integration, verification, and release.
- Contribute to product architecture and design, proactively identifying testability requirements, technical dependencies, failure scenarios, and product risks at an early stage.
- Translate business and user requirements into effective acceptance criteria and test scenarios, ensuring risks, dependencies, constraints, and quality requirements are clearly identified and addressed.
- Define and lead risk-based test strategies and plans, establishing testing priorities aligned with product quality, business, and regulatory requirements.
- Own and evolve the test automation strategy, developing scalable automation solutions and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and continuous quality validation.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute manual and automated testing activities, analyzing results, maintaining traceability of test evidence, and providing clear quality and risk reporting to support informed decisions.
- Drive effective defect management and resolution, assessing defect severity and impact, coordinating investigations with development teams, and supporting pragmatic mitigation and resolution strategies.
- Act as a technical quality catalyst within the development team, contributing hands-on to technical investigations, prototypes, test utilities, and automation, while evaluating and adopting emerging technologies such as GenAI-assisted test generation and prompt engineering workflows.
Must have skills
Proven experience in Software Development in Test (SDET), Test Automation, or Software Quality Engineering, ideally within complex cloud or data-driven products. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, defect management, risk-based testing, and quality engineering practices, with proven experience working in Agile environments. Proven track records in automation testing technology; strong programming skills in atleast one language such as Python / Java, with strong command of Windows and Linux environments; knowledge of Robot Framework and Ansibleis a plus. Strong knowledge and hands-onexperience in test automation, API, integration, and system testing, including the design and implementation of automated test strategies and their integration into CI/CD pipelines. Experience working with cloud technologies (such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud) and distributed systems, including the challenges associated with scalability, reliability, performance, and data integrity; hands-onexperience with Docker and Kubernetesis a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complexfailures, identify root causes, and communicate technical findings clearly.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in testing activities within DevOps practices, especially where quality gates, release risks, or operational readiness are involved.
- Experience with Big Data and data processing technologies (suchas Apache Hadoop, Apache NiFi, Pulsar)
- Experience testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, distributed data processing, data quality, data integrity, and large-scale datasets.
- Practical experience applying LLMs and GenAI tools to software testing, including test generation, failure analysis, coverage gap identification, and automation within real-world engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of Jira and Jira-XRay.
