Full Description
Role Summary
The QA/QC Engineer acts on behalf of the Project Manager to provide technical guidance, make recommendations, and oversee the practical aspects of material usage, testing, data recording, and accuracy checks. Ensures that quality control systems are effectively implemented and maintained in line with recognized industry practices and the Company's Quality Control Manual.
Key Responsibilities
Review and verify test/trial results, ensuring correct methodologies are applied and data is accurately recorded Discuss technical details, test results, and any discrepancies with the Client's Representative, ensuring clear understanding and resolution of issues outside design parameters Inform the Project Manager of any adverse results or client objections that may require additional work or impact project performance Prepare and issue liability exemption forms when specifications, instructions, or materials deviate from standard practices Halt any work that does not conform to the Company's Quality Control Procedures or recognized working standards Collect and compile all relevant quality-related information in line with contract completion and Company procedures Ensure all diagnostic equipment is properly used, stored, maintained, and calibrated, and maintain an up-to-date register of such equipment as per quality control requirements Maintain AS-BUILT marked-up drawings on a monthly basis, ensuring they reflect at least 80% of actual site progress, and coordinate with subcontractors to meet the same target Conduct pre-job briefings with site execution teams (direct and indirect) for every approved method statement to ensure proper understanding and implementation Perform various assignments assigned by the QA / QC Manager.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with relevant GCC and temporary works experience preferred Eligible for CRPEP registration Good organizing and coordinating skills Ability to gather and analyse statistical data, budgeting and generate reports Ability to use language and communications translation issues and activities as necessary to enable effective relations and integration Good database management skills Knowledge of temporary works preferred
