Duties
As a Testing Clerk, you will
- Conduct military enlistment aptitude and qualification examinations.
- Perform qualify control of examination and applicable applicant information.
- Distribute and Proctor examinations/tests.
- Ensure 100% accountability and security of testing materials at all times.
- Assist in conducting test material inventories.
- Follow strict mailing guidelines for shipping materials.
- Operate a variety of office automation equipment.
- Score enlistment and high school ASVAB tests using an Optical Marker Reader(9OMR) Scanner.
- Brief applicants regarding testing procedures.
- Answer applicant questions regarding testing procedures.
- Coordinate with appropriate offices to maintain office records.
- Coordinate with appropriate personnel to arrange testing at various sits.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, including: Assisting in conducting/proctoring examinations for applicants at a testing site; Briefing applicants on examination procedures/directions to ensure understanding; Conducting scoring of examinations and compiling test results and information into a centralized reporting system; Safeguarding testing materials to ensure no loss of compromise of testing materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (You must include a copy of your transcripts in your application package).
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (You must include a copy of your transcripts in your application package).
Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
