Job Description – eMachine PV&V Engineer

- Position Summary
- The eMachine PV&V Engineer supports Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) activities for electric machines. The role involves planning and executing PV&V tasks using VISION, collaborating with cross-functional teams, performing tests, documenting results, and ensuring that electric machine designs meet requirements for safety, performance, quality, cost, and reliability.
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage PV&V plans and activities in VISION, including creating work requests and reporting Activity Completion Rating (ACR).
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute PV&V activities (analysis, simulation, lab tests, field tests).
- Interpret and apply standards, specifications, and regulations related to electric machines.
- Lead and deliver small to medium-scale engineering projects under established project management guidelines.
- Participate in skill development, training, and professional accreditation activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical/user documentation and ensure proper backup of files.
- Support basic testing, instrument operation, and motor teardown analysis after failures.
- Assist in planning, production documentation, checklist preparation, test plan tracking, and activity closure in VISION.
- Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years working with rotating components, electric machines, or electric motor testing.
- Hands-on experience with electric motors, inverters, and general electrification testing.
- Proficiency with data acquisition and instrumentation (accelerometers, thermistors, current transducers, VNAs).
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% (driving + flying to various labs).
- Experience with Windchill and Creo (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to perform or support basic non-standard tests and develop test fixtures.
