Full Description

Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a highly technical engineering team focused on accelerating and modernizing SaaS products through automation and AI. This individual will help bridge the gap between software development and quality engineering by designing, developing, and delivering scalable automated testing frameworks for next-generation platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who approaches testing through a software development lens rather than as a traditional QA function. The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with deep automation experience, a pragmatic approach to solving problems, and an interest in leveraging AI to improve engineering and testing workflows. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for next-generation SaaS platforms. Build automation solutions supporting applications developed across Java environments. Develop and enhance automated testing using tools such as Selenium and Appium. Partner directly with software engineers to embed quality and automated testing throughout the development lifecycle. Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to improve software quality and engineering velocity. Identify opportunities to use AI-enabled tools and approaches to improve testing, automation, and software development. Create reusable and scalable automation solutions that can support multiple products and engineering teams. Collaborate across distributed engineering and product teams, including colleagues in the UK. Independently identify technical challenges, recommend solutions, and drive work forward without requiring extensive direction. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience as an SDET, Automation Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, or similar engineering-focused testing role. Experience designing and developing test automation frameworks, not simply executing automated tests. Strong programming experience with Java. Candidates coming from another object-oriented programming language may be considered if they can demonstrate Java proficiency. Hands-on experience with Selenium, Appium, or comparable automation frameworks. Strong understanding and practical experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD). Experience working within B2B and/or B2C SaaS software environments. Strong understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to work alongside senior developers. Demonstrated interest in AI-enabled software development, testing, or automation. Professional AI experience is not required, but candidates should be able to demonstrate meaningful use of AI tools, experimentation, or personal projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse technical teams and functions.
