Role: Director – Embedded x86 SoC Pre-silicon Emulation / Post-silicon Validation
SoC/ASIC validation, pre-silicon emulation, post-silicon validation
Programming: C/C++, Python or Perl; scripting for automation
Lab hardware: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators; JTAG for system bring-up
Emulation/test frameworks and automation suites
Lead pre-silicon emulation and collaborate with SOC design to validate new silicon features; drive post-silicon validation
Silicon bring-up and cross-functional support with software/firmware teams; define enablement sequences and specs
Design, develop, and execute validation tests (C/C++, directed/random/pseudo-random) and build automation to improve efficiency; diagnose issues and perform root-cause analysis
Extensive SoC/ASIC validation experience (pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon validation)
Proficient in C/C++, Python or Perl; strong test development and debugging skills
Hands-on with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers) and system integration using tools like JTAG
Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical abilities; ability to lead cross-functional efforts
Experience building/manage automated validation suites and test frameworks
Deep experience with SOC enablement workflows and feature bring-up
Familiarity with emulation environments and silicon verification across platforms

Director - Embedded X86 SOC Pre-silicon Emulation / Post Silicon Validation
Core Responsibilities
SOC Emulation - Lead the pre-silicon emulation and work closely with SOC design teams to validate the new silicon features
Silicon bring-up: Lead the initial bringing up of new silicon and work closely with software and firmware teams to support their work. SOC Feature Enablement - Work with IP and SOC Design to define the enablement sequence and define specs SOC Electrical and Functional valdation - Validate the SOC for Functional and Electrical correctness
Cross-functional collaboration: Work with design, verification, and software teams to resolve problems and meet project goals.
Test development and execution: Design, develop, and execute validation tests in C/C++ to functionally test the silicon on physical hardware or emulators.
Debugging and root cause analysis: Use lab equipment like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers to debug issues, root-cause silicon failures, and verify fixes.
Automation: Develop and build automated test suites and validation frameworks to improve efficiency.
Reporting: Report on project status and provide feedback to the architecture and design teams.
Required Skills And Experience
System-on-Chip (SoC) and ASIC validation: Experience with SoC architecture, pre-silicon emulation, and post-silicon ASIC validation.
Programming: Proficient in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python or Perl.
Lab equipment: Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
Test development: Experience writing and reviewing validation test plans and developing directed, random, and pseudo-random diagnostics.
System integration: Ability to bring up and debug systems on various platforms using tools like JTAG.
Problem-solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills to find and resolve complex issues.
Automation tools: Experience with creating and building automation suites and test automation tools.
