Please note: Sponsorship is not provided for this position. The AI Automation Engineer is a position within the Lightspeed Systems’ AI Department. This role focuses on AI-driven workflow automation to enhance business processes across the organization. You will collaborate on designated projects across all parts of the company including Marketing, Sales, Customer Services, Finance, Product Development, HR, and Legal. You will use low-code tools like n8n and AI platforms such as OpenAI and Anthropic. The primary responsibilities include connecting business systems and data platforms — including BI platforms, data lakes, Salesforce, and communication tools — into cohesive, automated workflows. This role will work closely with the Senior AI Automation Engineer, the Chief AI Officer, and the Salesforce Product Manager on delegated projects and tasks. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to administer and implement AI-driven automation workflows and initiatives. This position ensures the efficiency, scalability, and stability of Lightspeed Systems’ technology ecosystem. ABOUT THE ROLE The following are the essential functions of the position. Design, build, and automate workflows using low-code platforms such as n8n and Zapier, that connect business systems (Salesforce Slack, email, databases). Implement lightweight software/apps (could be internal dashboards, forms, small micro-services) to enable automation. Create, refine, and effectively evaluate prompts for AI models to deliver high-quality outputs. Manage and maintain API keys and credentials essential to automated workflows Monitor and troubleshoot automation workflows to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance. Stay current with advances in large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and emerging AI tools. Partner with stakeholders to analyze business processes and recommend automation solutions. Build project scopes, deployment schedules, and technical documentation. Coordinate with contractors/vendors on Salesforce and automation projects. Provide training and guidance to team members on automation best practices. Measure and prioritize business impact. Monitor and enforce best practices, documentation, and governance for automation projects, ensuring alignment with company policies and compliance with security standards. ABOUT YOU The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred or required to perform this job. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Science, related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience configuring and managing integrations across multiple systems. Hands-on experience with no-code automation tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar). Experience with Jira Service Desk or related IT service management tools a plus. Hands-on Salesforce experience, with Salesforce certification a plus. Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and working with structured data formats (e.g., JSON). Extensive prompt engineering, and how to structure effective prompts for AI models. Understanding workflows and process requirements of complex application systems. Strong documentation and training skills, with the ability to communicate complex systems to non-technical audiences.
