Work Location: Jiangmen, Guangdong (we can consider offering Hong Kong employment, work 5-day week in Jiangmen)
Position summary
- Lead and oversee key machinery/equipment teams for automation design, process engineering standardization, mechanical design and machinery assembly.
Responsible for developing and implementing automated machinery, processes and systems across all operation functions of the company.
Work closely with the stakeholders to identify areas in need of automation and develop solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated solutions to streamline manufacturing processes and support operational needs
- Work closely with operations stakeholders to understand their requirements and needs, and to manage automation team to deliver various projects on time without any quality issues.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the potential for automation
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines for the implementation of automation projects, also coordinate and manage the work of internal and external resources involved
- Manage changes to the scope, monitor and report on the progress of automation projects
- Manage day to day operations to ensure that automation projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in automation technology, and identify opportunities for the use of automation to improve the efficiency of business processes
- Maintain centralized standardization database of in-house build machines, automation processes for best practice sharing across the company
- Technical staffing and development to maintain the continuity of support, availability of resources to meet future technology growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
- 15+ years experience in a technical leadership role, with 10+ years in an automation-focused role
- Working experience in multinational manufacturing environment is preferred
- Expertise in developing and implementing automated machinery/equipment and systems; with a proven track record of successful process improvement.
- Extensive experience in process automation and management, as well as strong working knowledge of various automation technologies, such as AI, PLC programming etc.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control standards
- A great communicator and confident decision maker.
- Learning agility, flexible and willing to learn new skill and application of new techniques.
