Role & seniority: Test System Software Engineer (mid-level, individual contributor)
Stack/tools: automated test systems (production/validation), software versioning and deployment, configuration management, ticketing/change tools (Jira, Azure DevOps), test automation frameworks, measurement instrumentation, issue logs, KPIs, user documentation
Monitor, troubleshoot, and independently resolve software performance/functionality issues on test systems
Analyze test system data (logs, cycle times, KPIs) to identify trends, root causes, bottlenecks, and anomalies
Serve as first point of contact for users; create change requests for larger enhancements/bug fixes; maintain knowledge base and release documentation
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
Familiarity with automated test systems; understanding of versioning, configuration management, and deployments
Experience with ticketing/change tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)
Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and documentation skills
Customer-oriented mindset and ability to communicate clearly with users
Knowledge of test automation frameworks and measurement instrumentation
Experience in production/validation environments
Ability to contribute user-friendly release notes and troubleshooting guides

Your Responsibilities
Monitor and troubleshoot software performance and functionality on test systems Investigate, diagnose, and independently resolve smaller software-related problems Act as the first point of contact for test system software users Support users with guidance and documentation on system usage and known issues Analyze test system data (e.g., error logs, test cycle times, performance KPIs) to identify trends and root causes Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or software anomalies from operational data Create structured and detailed change requests for larger software enhancements or bug fixes Maintain clear documentation on known issues, applied fixes, software versions, and best practices Ensure adherence to internal standards and procedures for software changes and updates
Your Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field Familiarity with automated test systems in production or validation environments is a plus Understanding of software versioning, configuration management, and deployment processes Familiarity with ticketing or change request tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) Knowledge of test automation frameworks and measurement instrumentation is an advantage Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to empathize with user needs while maintaining technical focus Ability to contribute to clear and user-friendly documentation, release notes, and troubleshooting guides
