Role: Senior Software Test Engineer

Develop test cases and test protocols to verify software functionality
Promote and implement automated testing techniques across development, build/release, and formal testing
Collaborate with product/engineering teams to identify failure modes, verify testing approaches, and ensure proper test execution; help define/refine software design and test control practices
Must-have skills
Hands-on software testing experience, preferably with complex medical devices
Experience decomposing complex user interactions into clear test instructions
Knowledge of software architecture and UI automated testing
Experience with software quality systems; system test and software engineering processes
Strong verbal and written communication
Education: B.Sc. in CS or related field + 5+ years, or M.Sc./PhD + 3+ years
Nice-to-haves
FDA or other highly regulated environment experience
Python or C++ programming
Experience with automated GUI testing tools (e.g., Squish)
Awareness of electrical/mechanical engineering domains

Key Interactions You will interact primarily with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Test and Quality, with additional key interactions with other Engineering groups, Project Management, and Clinical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test cases and test protocols to verify software functionality
Champion efforts to improve utilization of automated test techniques in support of software development, build and release activities, and formal testing
Work closely with product development teams to build the list of failure modes and how those should be tested
Work with engineering and quality to ensure the proper execution of the test protocols and help ensure a quality product is produced
Help define and refine software design and test control practices
Experiences and Qualifications
Hands-on software testing experience preferably with complex medical devices
Knowledge of software architecture and user interface automated testing
Experience writing test protocols and decomposing sophisticated user interactions into simple and clear instructions.
Experience with software quality systems
A background in system test and software engineering processes
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
B.Sc. in computer science or related field + 5 years of experience or M.Sc. or PhD in computer science or related field + 3 years of experience
Preferred
Working experience in FDA or other highly regulated environment
Experience in C++ or Python programming
Experience with automated GUI testing tools such as Squish
General knowledge in other subject areas, including electrical and mechanical engineering
