Role & seniority: Automation Engineer / Controls Engineer (mid-senior level) in manufacturing
Stack/tools: PLCs, sensors, actuators; control panel wiring and integration; vision systems; machine learning for inspection; collaborative robots (cobot) and AGVs; safety controls (light curtains); documentation of logic and SOPs
Design, install, and maintain automation systems for material handling, adhesive dispensing, and machine sequencing
Develop and deploy vision systems and ML models to enhance inspection and mistake-proofing
Build/wire control panels, integrate PLCs/hardware, and retrofit equipment; oversee safety controls and cross-functional collaboration
Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or 10+ years related experience OR equivalent
4–6 years in industrial automation, preferably manufacturing
Experience with PLCs, sensors/actuators, control panel wiring; safety/compliance knowledge
Experience with vision/ML implementations, collaborative robotics, and AGVs
Network of integrators/panel builders and automation vendors
Retrofit/change-management experience and cross-functional collaboration
