Proven optical metrology experience and familiarity with precision positioning systems; laser safety and optical assembly/test of opto-mechanical subsystems.
Ability to write and conduct test procedures, assess risks/hazards; strong communication and data/scripted-control capability (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
What you'll do Contribute to and lead optical assembly, alignment, integration and test procedures. Develop strategies for entire instruments or subsystems in a series production industrial environment. Specify, operate and procure the needed optical equipment for assembly, integration and test (AIT) activities. Write and conduct test procedures, including assessing risks and hazards, and refinement of these for manufacturing processes. Adopt and apply industry and safety standards and practices. Seek ways to adapt these to MBryonics’ procedures and practices. Quantify and qualify the performance of our approaches in technical budgets. Develop procedures and efficiencies in Design for Excellence/Design for Manufacture for technically skilled personnel to perform. Align and cooperate with other AIT disciplines (mechanical, photonics, electrical, systems). Execute the optical AIT activities in the onsite cleanroom and at external facilities. Present results to the project team and customers. Occasional travel to visit customers, suppliers, and test facilities. Work collaboratively across the company - with management, procurement, production and multidisciplinary technical teams. Meeting with clients, suppliers, stakeholders and project managers to define requirements, test plans and report on project progress. Liaising with suppliers, research partners and clients to build strong working relationships for close collaboration. Support Production personnel to develop procedures for manufacturer and test. Who you are Bachelor's Degree in Technical Optics, Physics, Space Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. Experience in optical metrology (wavefront measurements, light sources, lasers, detectors, imaging systems, lenses and mirrors) Experience using high-precision positioning systems (hexapods, stages etc.). Experience with communications lasers and adoption of relevant safety procedures. Experience with assembly and test of dynamic opto-mechanical sub-systems, including defining and executing test plans to inform systems requirements Numerical data handling and scripted command control of measurement setups (e.g. Matlab, Python). Good communication and writing skills. Ability to write and conduct test procedures, including assessing risks and hazards. Willingness to work in a collaborative environment, take and provide direction, and help manage timelines and activities.
