Project Role: Quality Engineering Lead (Test Lead)

Project Role Description: Leads a team of quality engineers through multi-disciplinary team planning and ecosystem integration to accelerate delivery and drive quality across the application lifecycle. Applies business and functional knowledge to develop end-to-end testing strategies through the use of quality processes and methodologies. Applies testing methodologies, principles and processes to define and implement key metrics to manage and assess the testing process including test execution and defect resolution.

Summary: As a Quality Engineering Lead, you will lead a team of quality engineers, guiding them through the complexities of multi-disciplinary team planning and ecosystem integration. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality applications. You will apply your business and functional knowledge to develop comprehensive testing strategies, ensuring that quality processes and methodologies are effectively implemented throughout the application lifecycle. You will also focus on defining and implementing key metrics to manage and assess the testing process, including test execution and defect resolution, ultimately driving quality and efficiency in the development process. Roles & Responsibilities: - Primarily responsible to develop and maintain the automated test suites that help in the integration and migration of FIS’ Commercial Lending Solution (CLS) as part of this strategic transformation initiative for Back Office. - As Intermediate/Senior Test Automation Developer: - Research, design, and develop software. - Ability to build automated test solution from the beginning using Java, cucumber, selenium, SoapUI or HP UFT - Analyse user needs and develop software solutions - Work with other engineers to integrate hardware and/or software systems - Coordination with application support (BA and developers) and other functional team members / colleagues on creating the automation test suite. - Update software, enhances existing software capabilities, and develops and direct software testing and validation procedures. - Preparing good documentation of each automated test process. - Develop specifications and performance requirements. - As Integration Tester: - Under the supervision of team lead, the candidate should be able to handle the different integration test phases (planning, test functional coverage and adequacy with functional content) and to manage regression test, integration test on functional test campaign. - Maintain up to date test libraries (test cases) - Handle application testing (manually and automated) - Prepare regular reports on test results - The position requires autonomy and reliability in performing duties while maintaining close communication with rest of project/support team. Professional & Technical Skills: - Minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience in test automation development using JAVA / Selenium or similar technologies. - Test automation experience in data migration projects managing the Financial data (Good to have) - Technical Competencies: Java, Groovy & Unix Scripting, Selenium, Cucumber, API Automation, SOAP UI / Postman tools, Relational databases : Oracle ExaCC, No SQL DB : Cassandra, HBASE, MongoDB, Build tool : Maven/Graddle, JMS/WebSphere MQ/Kafka message broker, Restful web services, Jenkins, Source management : GITLab, TDD using Junit, Jira/QC, Nexus, Application server :JBoss AS/WebLogic - Good understanding of key Kubernetes skills : understanding containerization with Docker, working with Kubernetes objects like Deployments and Services, and managing deployments using YAML - Data Migration & ETL: Understanding of end-to-end data migration project that includes Data extraction from legacy systems, Data mapping and transformation, Data cleansing and normalization, Import/export using data utilities and scripts, if any, [Good to have] Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as: Talend, Apache Hop - Strong command of SQL (writing complex queries, stored procedures, data validation) - Testing & Quality Assurance : Test planning, execution, and automation for: Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing - Familiarity with test management tools e.g., HP ALM, JIRA, Zephyr - DevOps & Automation: Version Control: Proficient in version control systems, particularly Git Artifact Management: Familiarity with Nexus or similar tools. CI/CD: Solid understanding of the core concept of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment, and pipeline related tools such as Jenkins, and GitlabCI. Code Quality: Strong understanding of code quality practices, including code reviews, unit testing / TDD, and integration testing. Behavior-Driven Development (BDD): Experience in implementing BDD practices using tools like Cucumber and X-ray for Jira, integrating BDD frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous validation of functional requirements. Monitoring and Observability: Experience with monitoring and observability solutions such as Prometheus, Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK Stack, and OpenTelemetry. Configuration Management: Experience with defining, storing, and versioning application/system configurations in Git. Performance Optimization: Skills in profiling and benchmarking tools for Java applications, load testing and stress testing tools like JMeter, and familiarity with microservices performance tuning including API latency reduction, optimizing inter-service communication and resource utilizations. - Security & Compliance : Understanding of security principles, authentication protocols (e.g. OAuth, SAML) and encryption techniques, and application and cloud security best practices. - Knowledge of commercial loan lifecycle or basic banking experience is an advantage. - Strong hands-on experience with FIS Commercial Lending Solutions formerly ACBS – Good to have - Experience with banking core systems and integrations e.g loan accounting, document management, credit systems – Good to have - Good understanding of SDLC and Agile Scrum practices.
