Principle duties and essential functions The Test Design Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing end-to-end manufacturing test strategies to ensure the highest quality standards for Adtran products. This role requires strong knowledge of telecom, networking and optical industry standards, as well as proficiency in automation tools such as NI TestStand and Python. Design Tasks Architect test concepts for WDM telecom devices in collaboration with R&D, Global Industrialization, and Production Engineering teams Design and document test hardware and software to meet all required specifications Support and maintain existing test solutions in manufacturing environments Develop complex algorithms for calibrating optical devices Development and Deployment Tasks Work with R&D to define all necessary test processes Collaborate with test colleagues to develop test steps, drivers, and automated sequences Ensure test solutions meet design specifications and quality standards Coordinate with contract manufacturers to transfer test solutions into production Sustain Tasks Support implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) Drive continuous improvements to achieve higher quality at the lowest test cost Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical, Telecom Engineering Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Hands-on experience with automation tools (NI TestStand, Python).
