Role & seniority: Lead AI & Automation Engineer (senior/lead level)
Stack/tools: Python, APIs, Microsoft Power Platform, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools; AI infrastructure and lifecycle management; data engineering practices; collaboration with external vendors
Lead design, development, and delivery of AI and automation solutions across the university
Co-develop and support AI infrastructure, including lifecycle management of ethical, responsible AI models, while contributing hands-on to builds
Partner with diverse stakeholders to translate needs into scalable, enterprise-wide solutions and ensure responsible AI and integration with existing tech
Must-have skills: strong foundational skills in AI tooling, coding, and automation platforms; ability to build AI maturity and scalable solutions; hands-on, impact-driven delivery; ability to guide technical decisions and contribute in cross-functional settings
Nice-to-haves: experience in governing responsible AI practices, enterprise IT integration, vendor management, and influencing stakeholders; prior leadership in AI/automation programs
Location & work type: Hybrid work model (3 days on-site, 2 remote) based at Footscray Park Campus with option to work from City Campus; full-time, continuing contract (36.75 hours/week)
