Role & seniority: Automation Engineer, mid-level (3+ years), reports to Quality Manager at E78th forge plant, Cleveland, OH.
Stack/tools: Automation systems design and implementation; PLC programming; robotics integration; electrical schematics; documentation (system designs, procedures); MS Office; collaboration with engineering, production, and maintenance.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation systems to improve efficiency and consistency.
Lead project management for new equipment/process installations (planning, budgeting, coordinating, reporting).
Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance; provide training and technical support; maintain documentation.
BS in Mechanical, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
3+ years in automation engineering (robotics and PLC programming) in manufacturing/steel forging or related environment.
Proficiency in PLC programming, electrical schematics, electrical troubleshooting; strong safety knowledge; excellent communication.
Experience with automated/robotic systems in forging or heavy manufacturing.
Preventive maintenance experience; hands-on with system integration and cross-location support.

Press sizes range from 1,300 to 6,000 tons, forging approximately 125,000 tons of steel annually.
