Full Description
TITLE: Sr Systems Test Engineer DUTIES: We seek a Sr Systems Test Engineer based out of our location at 2151 E Lincoln Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work from the aforementioned address and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned address. Note, this position does not require travel. Responsibilities include: Writing test specifications for customer projects. Developing validation tests and automation scripts for electrical bench, Power HiL, HV, which includes validation testing. Conducting tests, including functional, non-functional, and usability testing. Automation testing involves writing scripts using testing frameworks to simulate user interactions with a software application. Integration, Dyne, and motor simulation benches, which involves evaluating the interaction and compatibility of various vehicle components when integrated into a complete system to verify that subsystems (such as engine, transmission, and electronics) work seamlessly together and measuring the performance and efficiency of engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components. Executing and debugging Test Cases and maintaining traceability, which involves running predefined test scenarios to verify that software or components meet specified requirements and analyzing logs, code, and system behavior to pinpoint defects. Following the process as Defined for systems/ software Verification, ensuring that the entire vehicle system (including hardware, software, and interactions) meets safety, performance, and functional requirements. Following Defect Tracking Process as defined, ensuring team members, product owners, and stakeholders use a consistent approach to describe defect, defining severity levels for defects, and using Jira tool for capturing and managing defects. Building testing and component Harnesses, which involves clearly outlining the specifications and functionality needed for the wire harness. Debugging inverter systems using On-Board Diagnostics which involves DTC verification and entails reading DTCs and connecting an OBD scanner to the vehicle’s OBD port. Retrieve stored DTCs related to the inverter, interpreting DTCs, inspecting Wiring and Connections, performing functional testing, clearing DTCs, and monitoring performance. Black Box Testing, Writing Test Cases and Traceability Metrics. Reporting using Defect Tracking tools like Jira, which includes conducting issue management and tracking, quality assurance, traceability and compliance, and efficiency and productivity. Tracking requirements and test cases using requirement tracking system like Polarion, which involves conducting traceability, interoperability using HEV ecosystems and Polarion QA, and achieving efficiency and value by leveraging existing test plans, reusing test cases, and managing defects and enhancements within one platform, HEV teams can streamline processes, reduce costs, and build a competitive advantage through quality assurance. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering and 36 months of experience in job offered or as a Systems engineer or Software Test Engineer. Required experience must include: Experience using CAN communication protocol and XCP protocol. Experience writing test specification requirements and design. Experience executing tests in test environments including Vehicle, Dyne, HV Bench, and HIL. Experience using DSpace/NI/CAN Tool, including CANstress and CANoe.
