Job Description
The Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the functionality, performance, and reliability of main engine components through dedicated measurements and validation activities on engine test benches. With expertise in data acquisition systems and engine testing tools, the engineer performs test setups and executes validation campaigns using advanced instrumentation and software platforms (e.g., PUMA, Concerto, INCA). The role includes supporting root cause analysis of field issues, collaborating with design teams, production plants, and suppliers to ensure fast and effective feedback on quality and performance topics. Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration are essential, involving Chief Engineers, DREs, Quality Teams, and external partners.
Responsibilities
Define and execute test plans in coordination with the Testing Team Leader and Component Development Managers, specifying measurement types, timing, tools, and expected outputs. Set up and manage engine test benches for component and system validation, including instrumentation installation and configuration. Perform dedicated measurements on engine test benches using tools such as thermocouples, pressure sensors, accelerometers, and data acquisition systems (e.g., PUMA, Concerto, INCA). Manage data acquisition, recording, and post-processing, delivering complete technical reports in line with procedures and team requirements. Provide technical supervision for instrumentation setup, calibration, and functionality checks. Analyze engine and component behavior before and after testing to assess durability and performance. Support failure analysis and share findings with internal teams and quality departments. Collaborate with production plants and suppliers to provide timely feedback on quality and validation issues. Identify critical situations and contribute to recovery plans or continuous improvement initiatives.
Profile
Requirements
Mase's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in engine testing or related field. Solid understanding of engine systems and components (combustion, timing, cooling systems, fluid dynamics, auxiliary systems,). Experience with engine test bench operations and related software (e.g., PUMA, Concerto, INCA). Proficiency in data acquisition systems and instrumentation. Fluent in English. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. In-depth knowledge of engine validation processes and test methodologies. Hands-on experience with engine test bench instrumentation and data analysis tools. Familiarity with calibration and control systems. Strong problem-solving skills and customer-oriented mindset. Ability to work in dynamic environments and manage ambiguity effectively.
