Role & seniority: Software Quality Engineer / Quality Engineer (SQE); mid-to-senior level emphasis on software quality in aerospace programs.
Stack/tools: C/C++/Java; Agile/Scrum software development; Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence); code collaboration tools; configuration management tools; AS9100 quality framework; Lean/Six Sigma (black/green belt) preferred; CSQE is a plus.
Independently evaluate software processes/products for conformance to standards and program-defined processes.
Ensure quality across the full SDLC and maintenance activities; monitor, analyze, and drive continuous improvement through metrics and governance.
Manage nonconformances, defects, trend analysis, root cause/CAPA activities; support AS9100 audits and deliver quality assessments to customers and program management.
Ability to read/write code in C, C++, or Java.
Knowledge of quality systems/processes and external quality standards; experience with configuration management tools.
Experience with Agile/Scrum; familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and code collaboration tools.
Lean/Six Sigma belt and ASQ CSQE or equivalent certification; knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
Prior experience supporting aerospace/space programs; additional quality certifications; advanced metrics/reporting capabilities.

Independent evaluation of software processes and products and their conformity to standards, models, and software engineering program-defined processes Ensuring quality is built into program processes and products by checking for completeness, consistency, correctness, and conformance throughout the entire software development life cycle and maintenance activities to determine whether the program's objectives have been satisfied and if continuous improvement is needed Developing, monitoring, measuring, and analyzing software metrics for continuous improvement Ability to fill all aspects of the Quality function, including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Quality Engineering. The candidate needs to be able to take on roles that sometimes fall outside of the conventional SQE job description, like directing AS9100 audit support, program metric definition and reporting, supplier surveys, evaluation of nonconformances trending, and driving lessons learned and best practices Ability to present software quality assessment of products and processes to the customer and program management Track and manage nonconformances, software defects, trend analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action activities for the program
