The focus of this role is to be part of a team of pre-silicon power and performance engineers to verify new and existing features for Intel's next generation high-performance CPU products and interconnected interfaces, resulting in end-to-end power-performance correlation. You will be responsible for exhaustively validating the RTL implementation of new architecture and microarchitecture capabilities using a combination of standalone and top-level test environments from a power-performance standpoint. This position requires a broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires close interaction with cross-functional teams such as Architecture, Design, Pre-silicon and Post-Silicon validation teams to define and execute Pre-Silicon test content and provide feedback based on validation results. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Develop validation strategies, plans and methodologies, teaming up with designers, architects, manufacturing and pre-silicon teams and other cross functional organizations. • Develop and enable test content to meet pre-silicon power-performance validation requirements as well as automation software and platform level tools for debug. • Execute validation plans, perform debug to root cause issues, and enable robust design fixes. • Use simulation and emulation test environments to produce test results. • Report test results, including product risk/health assessment from a power and performance standpoint. • Willing to deliver high-quality output against deadlines and able to work effectively in a cross-site team environment. Note: This is a temporary 1-year position. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications: Completed or in-progress BS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline 2+ years of experience in: Applying extensive knowledge of Computer Architecture, CPU micro-architecture and Operating Systems (e.g. Linux). Proven experience in Python scripting and/or Object-Oriented Programing (e.g. C/C++) in a test environment. Fluent in English language (written and spoken).
