Role Overview We are seeking an experienced QA Manager to lead quality engineering efforts across our products. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will define the QA vision, build and own the automation strategy, and mentor a growing QA team. You will work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC, not treated as a final gate. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical depth with a leadership mindset and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities Quality Strategy & Leadership Define and execute the overall QA and test automation strategy aligned with Valorx’s product roadmap. Build, lead, and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Act as the quality champion, ensuring best practices are followed across teams and releases. Test Automation & Engineering Design, develop, and maintain a scalable automation framework from scratch. Evaluate, select, and standardize automation tools and technologies Drive automation across UI, API, integration, and regression testing. Ensure test automation is fully integrated into CI/CD pipelines. Functional & Non-Functional Testing Plan and execute functional, integration, regression, installation, and upgrade testing for every release cycle. Validate performance, reliability, and security aspects in collaboration with engineering and DevOps teams. Review product requirements and technical designs to identify test scenarios early. Collaboration & Process Excellence Partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to ensure testability and quality by design. Establish and continuously improve QA processes within Agile/Scrum teams. Track, triage, and report defects using tools like Jira, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution. Communicate test results, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders and leadership. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with significant focus on test automation. Proven experience leading and managing QA teams. Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks. Experience with JavaScript-based ecosystems (JavaScript, React, Node.js). Solid understanding of Salesforce platform testing and ecosystem. Experience with API testing tools such as Postman (or similar). Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect management. Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Nice to Have Background as a software developer with exposure to both frontend and backend systems. Experience testing cloud-native or SaaS products. Exposure to performance, security, or reliability testing. Experience scaling QA practices in a startup or high-growth environment.
