Our client, a large professional services firm, is looking to hire a Systems Design & Automation Engineer for a 6-month hybrid contract. The consultant must be commutable from one of three locations and will be spending 2-3 days onsite.
Jersey City, NJ Tampa,FL Coppell, TX
The consultant will be designing, building, and operating an automation-first platform leveraging RHEL, Ansible Automation Platform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and AWS. The consultant will be tasked with enabling self-service for application teams through secure, scalable, and observable platform capabilities. The consultant will automate platform operations using Ansible (Core & Automation Platform) as well as design and maintain IaC for AWS resources with Terraform.
The consultant will be implementing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and configuration and standardizing RHEL lifecycle management (build, harden, patch). The engineer will also develop and document architecture/design standards and best practices for the Linux environment and create secure patterns for identity, access, and secrets management. The consultant will need to build self-service experiences (catalog items, reference architectures).
Required Skills
5+ years Linux administration (RHEL expertise). 3+ years AWS at scale; multi-account governance. Hands-on with Ansible and Terraform. Strong scripting (Bash/Python) and CI/CD experience. Knowledge of security/compliance and cloud networking fundamentals. Experience with production operations and incident management.
Desired Skills
