About The Role
This is a remote position available to candidates located in North Carolina and Texas. The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and performance of the Deposits and Shared Services team’s functional testing processes. The individual will be responsible for conducting independent quality checks, developing measurement methods, and coordinating testing activities to identify issues, trends, and gaps in current programs. The role involves collaborating with the testing lead to develop test plans and strategies, updating testing metrics daily, and providing insights to the QA Lead. Additionally, the QA Specialist may lead defect review meetings and other testing-related discussions in the absence of the test lead. The position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to risk management and process improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of Quality Assurance experience within a Financial Services organization, or High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of relevant QA experience in a Financial Services environment. Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Experience working on Agile projects with comprehensive knowledge of daily Agile ceremonies. Familiarity with testing methodologies such as mocking, pairwise testing, UI testing, and test data management. Proficiency with QA tools such as Jira, X-ray, or other defect tracking systems. Experience working with relational databases like Oracle or SQL Server. Basic understanding of API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Talend. Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools like Git, GitLab, Jenkins. Basic knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium and WebDriver. Programming or scripting skills in languages like Python, Ruby, .NET, Angular, or JavaScript. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving technologies.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute test cases based on requirements and user stories, performing manual testing as needed. Create detailed testing plans and test cases, and load them into appropriate testing tools. Participate in defect review meetings and project routines to analyze current defects and re-test resolved issues. Source, compile, and interpret data to assess accuracy and efficiency, effectively communicating findings. Contribute to risk mitigation by thoroughly testing programs, policies, and procedures to ensure quality standards are met. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive testing coverage and adherence to project timelines. Update testing metrics daily and provide reports and insights to the QA Lead for continuous improvement. Lead testing meetings, especially defect management sessions, in the absence of the test lead. Assist in the development and refinement of testing strategies, including automation and manual testing approaches. Maintain thorough documentation of testing activities, results, and issues for audit and review purposes.
