The Quality Engineering team is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer in Rockleigh, NJ. In this position, you will be part of a team of best-in-class quality engineers. Along with this team, you will own the quality of the products in Crestron's Unified Communications business unit, which has been one of the fastest-growing business verticals, encompassing a wide array of products, including Teams and Zoom-certified devices, Windows- and Android-based meeting room systems, and integrated audio-video systems. As a Senior QE, you will partner closely with Product Management, Software/Firmware Development, and System Architecture teams to create and execute comprehensive test strategies that reflect customer workflows in real-world UC deployments. You will lead validation efforts across multiple product lines, identify critical failure points, and champion quality across the lifecycle of our commercial UC products. We are seeking an individual with a passion for quality, experience in communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and a deep technical background in system-level testing, networking, and AV signal chains. RESPONSIBILITIES Review PRDs, design documents, and technical specs to identify quality concerns early. Author and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test matrices. Lead manual and automated test execution for UC peripherals, control panels, and conferencing solutions. Perform feature, regression, and interoperability testing across Teams and Zoom platforms. Validate firmware updates, OS builds, and application software across releases. Track defects using test management and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA). Perform root cause analysis and provide supporting debug logs, traces, and reproducible steps. Reproduce and triage field issues reported by customers or support teams. Provide test coverage analysis and quality metrics to leadership. Collaborate with automation teams to identify high-value areas for automated validation. Own testbed management and hardware configurations for assigned test domains. Contribute to process improvement initiatives that elevate overall product quality. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required. Master’s degree is a plus. A minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems, involving firmware and hardware testing, is required. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex systems involving firmware, software, and hardware. Experience with UC platforms like Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) and Zoom Rooms. Familiarity with AV equipment, HDMI/USB peripherals, and networked AV distribution. Solid understanding of test processes and test methodologies in Agile environments. Ability to multitask and manage test planning for multiple projects simultaneously. Hands-on mindset, capable of driving root cause analysis independently or with minimal guidance. Proactive and self-motivated, with a bias toward action and ownership. Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams across software, firmware, hardware, and product teams. Experience with defect tracking systems, test management systems, and software revision control is required. Familiarity with HDMI, USB, and peripheral device interoperability. Experience in IP and networking protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, Ethernet, IGMP, DHCP, Active Directory) is a plus. Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems is preferred. Experience in user experience testing is a plus. Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality software to production within tight schedules is required. Track record of completing assignments on time with a high degree of quality is critical. Excellent team player with a consistently positive attitude and collaborative approach to problem solving, options analysis and continuous improvement of process, team and systems. Ability to multitask and manage multiple large-scale projects is critical. Team oriented; strong interpersonal skills is essential. Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($88,500 - $143,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates.
