Role & seniority: MTS Software System Design Engineer (Member of Technical Staff level)
Stack/tools: Linux internals; AI/ML knowledge; GPU/PC hardware; multiple Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL, SLES, etc.); C/C++; Python; test frameworks (gtest, ctest); debugging tools (gdb, valgrind, strace, perf); scripting (Python/Shell); CI/CD (preferred); containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, strategies, and cases for complex system-level features across Linux distros
Analyze/debug issues across software stack; perform root-cause analysis; contribute to design decisions to improve quality; write automated tests and validation tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams; mentor junior engineers; drive test process and tooling improvements; validate AI models and HPC benchmarks
10–12 years in software testing/validation or system bring-up
Strong Linux internals knowledge; understanding of boot flow, processes, memory, networking, kernel basics
Experience with multiple Linux distributions; package/configuration management
Proficiency in C/C++, debugging tools (gdb, valgrind, strace, perf); Python/Shell scripting
Experience with test frameworks (gtest/ctest or similar); ability to design test plans and cases
Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills
