Strategic Leadership

The core responsibilities for the job include the following

Define and drive the overall QA vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with company goals and product development priorities. Establish and evolve QA processes, methodologies (e. g., Agile, Scrum, DevOps), and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in QA and testing to continually improve practices.

Team Leadership And Development

Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of QA managers, leads, and engineers, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support career development for team members. Promote a collaborative environment between QA and development teams, encouraging a "quality-first" mindset.

Quality Assurance And Testing

Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of all testing activities, including functional, non-functional (performance, security, usability), regression, and automation testing. Drive the adoption and expansion of test automation frameworks and strategies to improve coverage and speed of delivery. Implement and manage defect tracking processes, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis. Establish key quality metrics (e. g., defect density, test coverage, automation ROI) and regularly report on product quality to stakeholders.

Collaboration And Communication

Work closely with product managers, engineering leads, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure quality is built in from the early stages. Communicate QA strategy, progress, risks, and challenges to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. Act as a champion for quality throughout the organization.

Process Improvement

Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in the SDLC from a quality perspective. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize QA processes and reduce time-to-market while maintaining high quality. Drive a shift-left testing approach, integrating QA activities earlier in the development cycle.

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. [15+] years of experience in quality assurance, with at least [7+] years in a leadership role (e. g., manager, senior manager, or director of QA) in a product development environment. Proven track record of building, leading, and scaling high-performing QA teams. Deep expertise in various testing methodologies (e. g., Agile, Waterfall, DevOps) and types of testing (functional, performance, security, usability, etc. ). Strong experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e. g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman, etc. ). Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working closely with development teams. Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and quality gates. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
