The Software Technical Specialist plays a key role in bridging the gap between business users and IT teams by supporting Software Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities. This role focuses on testing, validation, coordination, and documentation to ensure software solutions meet quality standards especially in batch processing, reporting, and cloud-based environments. The specialist will also support deployment activities and help improve public-facing system interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Validation

Perform manual and automated software testing across applications Execute test cases, validate results, and identify defects Log defects clearly with detailed reproduction steps and evidence Support UAT testing cycles in collaboration with business users

UAT & Business Coordination

Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams Translate business requirements into test scenarios and cases Track testing progress and communicate status, issues, and risks

Batch Processing & Reporting

Test and validate batch jobs, batch processing, and reporting outputs Compare system outputs against expected results or previous versions Identify discrepancies caused by system changes or cloud migration

Cloud & System Modernization Support

Support testing related to cloud-based environments Identify and document issues arising from migration to the cloud Validate updated interfaces, integrations, and public-facing applications

Organization & Documentation

Create and maintain testing artifacts such as

• Test plans
• Test cases
• Test results
• Defect logs
• Organize testing schedules and track project activities
• Deployment & Release Support

Assist with pre- and post-deployment validation Perform smoke testing after deployments Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth releases

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience in Software QA, Testing, or UAT support Strong manual testing skills (automation exposure is a plus) Experience with defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.) Knowledge of batch processing and reporting systems Ability to compare data outputs and identify inconsistencies Strong communication and coordination skills Excellent documentation and organizational abilities

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) Experience testing data-driven or public-facing applications Understanding of deployment and release processes Basic automation testing knowledge
