This position will require the candidate to lead and instruct other quality engineers/inspectors in the daily tasks to support the manufacturing floor. The candidate should have knowledge of manufacturing practices as well as knowledge of handling suppliers’ activities. The Lead Quality Engineer will be required to interact with all levels of management in all departments and the customer. Candidate should have at least 8-12 years of quality experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control. Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root-cause and implementing corrective action. Must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation. Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation. Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment. The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. Experience with complex aerospace hardware. Preferred Qualifications. Bachelor of Science degree in related field preferred. Experience could be considered in lieu of a degree. At least 8 years of quality experience.
