ARC is hiring a Software Quality Engineer Intern for summer 2026! If you are eager to take on a challenging and rewarding Internship with a high-tech company surrounded by awesome professionals, then we want to hear from you. This internship will begin in early June and end in early August.
This internship follows a hybrid work model and is based in Arlington, VA or Tampa, FL. Applicants should be located within commuting distance of one of these offices.
The Software Quality Engineer Intern will review project documentation (requirements/user stories, designs) to learn and help plan, create, present, and maintain automated testing. You'll get a chance to work with QE lead to break down test scope and identify automation opportunities. You will review existing test scripts to learn and potentially build additional ones. You'll identify, create, and maintain test data sets. Additionally, you will be able to suggest improvements, ask for support, and become familiar with software quality and automation standards and best practices. And, maintain required automated test documentation and reporting. The Software Quality Engineer Intern will work in cross-functional teams with development and collaborate with all project team members in a productive way.
What You'll Get To Do
Review requirements/user stories, and design documents to gain an understanding of the application(s) or areas assigned to derive manual and automated test scope. This includes determination and creation of test data sets. Participate in cross-functional teams / multi-site meetings and initiatives. Contribute to project discussion. Collaborate with DevOps to learn continuous integration. Write functional scripts from the analysis of requirements and design documents. Write and execute simple complex SQL statements. Learn how to incorporate automated test execution for functional verification, system integration, and backend validation. Create and present scripts that meet the project goals and department strategies. Recommend automation improvements as needed. With QE lead guidance, help provide functional and automated testing baseline and LOE’s for projects and changes, as determined by project needs.
You'll Bring These Qualifications
Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, engineering or Math At least 1 year of work experience in a technical field Experience with programming; coding in C, C++, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, AngularJS, HTML5, and/or Python preferred Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and automated testing tools is a plus (i.e., Playwright, Selenium) Familiar with Windows, UNIX and/or Linux environments Working knowledge of RDBMS and Structured Query Language (SQL) Excellent problem-solving skills and providing process improvements Strong sense of ownership and drive for positive results Very strong communication and interpersonal skills
