Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a US public road. Today our award-winning technology has been launched across 8 countries (and counting). Our clients are some of the world’s biggest shippers, including Fortune 500 companies. We are also operating Sweden’s largest truck dedicated public charging network and counting.
The Data Scientist within Autonomous Systems Verification and Validation (V&V) plays a central role in helping development teams understand what to test and how to test it efficiently for both new and existing functionality. The position combines classical verification craftsmanship with modern, data-driven approaches. This includes applying AI and Machine Learning where appropriate to support decision making, improve test prioritization, and automate parts of the verification pipeline. The role involves taking ownership of test planning, working with the overall V&V strategy, reviewing specifications, and contributing to safe and robust autonomous technology.

Review verification specifications for quality and completeness. Drive and plan required test activities in all relevant test environments, from SIL to test track. Collaborate with development teams to develop high-quality verification content, including data-driven test scenarios and automated test oracles. Use AI and ML techniques, for instance anomaly detection or predictive modelling, to support decision making and improve test efficiency. Provide input to the strategic V&V development plan, with particular attention to the evolving role of AI-assisted verification. Develop and implement tooling that gathers evidence demonstrating that requirements are fulfilled, including automated metrics derived from simulation or embedded data streams. Summarize and report on progress and results from release testing activities, including insights from data-driven evaluations.
We Expect You To Have
Master's degree in engineering or a related field and minimum of 3 years' experience in verification and validation of software-controlled systems. Hands-on experience in Python for data analysis. Experience with virtual verification methods (SIL, HIL, simulation). Understanding of how to apply different verification methods to increase efficiency, and interest in augmenting them with data-driven techniques. Experience with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, ADAS, or Autonomous Driving, AD. Broader engineering experience beyond software testing in a single domain. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
