Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Test Proctor’s responsibilities include welcoming and checking in test candidates, verifying ID, and administering a variety of exams. The proctor also monitors candidates during testing. The proctor works and interacts effectively with students, instructors, and College staff to create a secure, efficient and courteous testing environment. Hours are Monday-Thursday 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Fridays 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Excellent organizational skills. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Must be detail-oriented and committed to accuracy. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written (ability to read, speak and write English). Must be team-oriented and possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively. Able to anticipate needs and manage time wisely. Ability to perform duties with limited supervision. Ability to manage conflict in a calm and effective manner. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software. Must be familiar with general office methods and techniques including filing systems. Knowledge of College policies, procedures, operations, and information system helpful. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Some college or other post-secondary student experience.
1-year office, reception, or customer service experience.
Experience working with confidential information.
Familiarity with SLCC a plus.
