Salary: $48 - $60 / hour
Role & seniority: QA/QC Supervisor leading the QA/QC Project Team; direct supervision of Quality Control Inspectors.
Stack/tools: ASME B31 piping codes; welding (AWS QC-1 SCWI/CWI or ICC Mechanical – Commercial preferred); ASME Section IX BP&V; quality plans and SOPs; SPC methods; vendor quality manuals; project QA/QC documentation and reporting.
Plan, conduct and oversee quality assurance activities (inspections, tests, design reviews, vendor QA) and ensure compliance with requirements and SOPs.
Manage non-conformances, audits, and project quality expectations; interface with General Contractor QA Manager; lead continuous process improvement.
Review purchased products, authorize accept/reject decisions, and maintain quality data, reports, and communications to management and project team.
8+ years in Quality Control in piping/construction/fabrication, welding, NDT; ASME B31 piping focus.
Certifications: AWS QC-1 SCWI/CWI or ICC Mechanical – Commercial preferred.
Leadership: at least 3 years managing direct reports.
Proficient in reading/writing, data analysis, problem solving, and effective communication; SPC experience; ability to interpret codes and weld procedures.
Supervises: Quality Control Inspectors Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes. Engage with the General Contractor’s Quality Assurance Manager for inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, quality audits. Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors. Attend weekly project update meetings with the project group including upcoming activities, status and deadlines. Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management. Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards. Other duties may be assigned by the management team. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management. Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities. Other duties as assigned by the Director of QA/QC in conjunction with the project team.
