As the QA/QC Supervisor, you will lead the QA/QC Project Team by setting clear expectations, coaching direct reports, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout fabrication and installation. You will oversee the First-in Inspection process to reduce risk and cost, resolve quality issues, and audit project-specific quality control plans to ensure compliance with company SOPs. This role is critical to supporting project success and influencing quality requirement changes.
Supervises: Quality Control Inspectors
Lead inspection, analysis, testing, and integration to ensure product/component quality. Review design documentation for compliance with requirements and standards. Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to evaluate processes. Collaborate with General Contractor's QA Manager on inspections, audits, and non-conformance issues. Onboard and guide new inspectors on project quality expectations. Attend weekly project meetings to review status, activities, and deadlines. Evaluate purchased products/components and advise on vendor acceptance. Document and report quality assurance activities and findings. Recommend process improvements and communicate significant issues to management. Stay current with government and industry QA codes and standards. Present technical and program information to teams and leadership. Lead technical and administrative QA personnel. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of QA/QC and project team.
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. 10+ years of overall experience, including 8+ years in QA/QC focused on ASME B31 piping codes, construction, welding, NDT, etc. 3+ years of experience managing direct reports. AWS QC-1 certification (SCWI, CWI) and/or ICC Mechanical - Commercial Certification preferred. Strong understanding of ASME Section IX BP&V Code and welding procedure development. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in basic math, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments. Regular attendance and physical ability to meet job demands.
