Job Summary We are seeking a highly capable Automation Engineer with strong automation design expertise and hands-on experience in industrial vision systems and PLC-controlled equipment. The primary responsibility of this role is automation system design, development, and optimization, along with commissioning, troubleshooting, and production support of vision-based assembly and inspection stations. This is a hands-on, shop-floor oriented role requiring strong design capability combined with execution excellence. About the Business Segment Ennovi’s Industrial segment powers automation, robotics, and energy storage systems enabling OEMs to achieve AI-powered manufacturing for Industry 4.0.

Main Responsibilities

Primary – Automation Design & Development Design and develop automation systems including PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and control architecture Design machine sequences, interlocks, safety logic, and control strategies Integrate vision systems, robots, AGVs, and peripheral devices into automation platforms Develop and modify PLC programs for new machines and existing equipment upgrades Support electrical design reviews and automation layout planning Participate in machine concept development, FAT, SAT, and commissioning Improve machine cycle time, stability, and process capability through automation enhancements.

Vision Systems & PLC Integration Configure and fine-tune industrial vision systems for inspection and code reading Optimize lighting, optics, focus, exposure, and inspection thresholds Interface vision systems with PLCs for triggering, pass/fail logic, reject handling, and traceability Reduce false rejects and improve inspection robustness Commission vision stations and support production ramp-up

Production Support & Troubleshooting Troubleshoot PLC, vision, robot, and automation-related breakdowns Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Provide fast technical support to operators and maintenance teams

Required Skills & Experience (Primary Emphasis on Automation Design) Willing to be placed in Batam Diploma / Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering 3–6 years of hands-on experience in automation design and machine control development Strong PLC programming experience (Omron, Inovance, Keyence, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi or equivalent) Experience designing machine sequences, interlocks, and safety logic Experience integrating vision systems into PLC-controlled automation Hands-on experience with industrial vision platforms (Hikvision, Cognex, Keyence, Omron, Basler, Sick, etc.) Strong understanding of lighting, optics, and image processing fundamentals Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio Experience in AGV systems (SEER Robotics preferred) SCARA robot experience (Yamaha, EPSON) – path teaching & troubleshooting 6-axis robot experience (Inovance, Yaskawa, Nachi, ABB) – path teaching & troubleshooting Strong troubleshooting and shop-floor problem-solving skills
