Pay rate is $70 to $80 per hour We are seeking a Core Network Automation Engineer whose primary focus is building and operating automated solutions for core network infrastructure. This role is centered on replacing manual network operations with scalable, repeatable automation using Ansible, Python, and related tooling. The ideal candidate is a network engineer who thinks in workflows, templates, and code, and applies those skills to large, complex network and firewall environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks for core network infrastructure Develop automation using Ansible, Python, and related tools to manage network and firewall platforms Replace manual network configuration and change processes with fully automated workflows Automate provisioning, validation, compliance checks, and rollback for network changes Build standardized network configurations using templates, variables, and source control Integrate network automation into CI/CD pipelines and operational workflows Develop automated testing and pre/post-change validation for network changes Operate and troubleshoot automated network systems in production environments Continuously improve automation coverage, reliability, and scalability Document automation architecture, workflows, and network standards Required Qualifications Strong experience building network automation using Ansible, Python, or similar tools Solid background in core networking (routing, switching, firewall platforms) Hands-on experience automating network changes in production environments Strong understanding of network data models, templates, and configuration abstractions Experience using version control systems (Git) for network automation Ability to troubleshoot both network behavior and automation logic Preferred Qualifications Experience building end-to-end network automation platforms or frameworks Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for infrastructure or network automation Experience with network state validation, testing, or intent-based approaches Experience working in large-scale or highly available network environments Advanced networking or automation certifications
