As an assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the assembly, integration and test of satellites and their subsystems, as well as creation and documentation of test equipment, such as automated racks. You will be responsible for authoring and maintaining test procedures and supporting troubleshooting efforts during production. You’ll work closely with system and hardware engineers to help define requirements and provide feedback to design engineers for test/design for manufacturing (DFT/DFM).
This position reports to the Director, Production and is based out of our Tukwila, WA office. This is onsite position expected to be in the office five days a week
Responsibilities
Responsible for satellite and subsystem testing, including the design, development, and execution of test setups, instrumentation, and documentation.
Collaborate with engineering disciplines and program management to ensure tests align with requirements, schedules, and quality standards.
Maintain existing automated and manual test equipment and lead the development and implementation of new test setups and/or fixtures.
Execute satellite-level tests, support troubleshooting efforts, and resolve stoppages during testing.
Create work instructions and training documentation for satellite assemblies and subsystems.
Aid in process improvement projects to streamline test documentation and data, configuration control, and integration operations to optimize test and production quality and efficiency.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of three-to-five (3-5) years of hands-on experience in a production environment, preferably with space hardware.

Strong understanding of satellite and satellite subsystems.

Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support launch campaigns.
Must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high reliability, safety critical, or regulated environments.

Experience with software scheduling and tasking tools, specifically Jira.
Familiarity with software version control management tools, specifically Git.

The anticipated hourly range for candidates in Tukwila, Washington is $110,000-$135,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of Tukwila, WA.
