In this role, you will work as a member of Tesla’s Optimus Test Team and support the component, sub-system and system level testing of Tesla’s Optimus Bot. As a test technician, you will work closely with reliability and test engineers in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment to assemble test fixtures, conduct material, performance, and reliability testing, and collect data.
As a successful candidate, you have strong mechanical or electrical hands-on skills and are able to work effectively and independently.
What You'll Do
Build, assemble, and refine test fixtures and equipment, both new and existing, ensuring functionality and precision Document all aspects of the testing process, including pre-test inspections, checkpoints, teardown, and modify/help develop SOPs Communicate effectively, raise technical questions, and challenge existing methods to find the best possible solutions Support the organization and improvement of the team’s lab space, adapting to the evolving needs of the program Fabricate wire harnesses, solder components, create aluminum extrusion fixtures, wire power supplies, and rework machined fixtures as needed Use Python to interface with test setups, running and adjust scripts to meet specific testing needs Instrument, assemble, and test engineering prototypes, gathering data to validate systems and ensure their proper functionality Enforce and adhere to lab safety protocols, always ensuring a safe and organized work environment
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or materials testing Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and lab equipment safely Hands-on experience in test setup and execution, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively Expertise in data collection and reporting using software such as MS Excel Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to gaining and sharing knowledge Familiarity with environmental stress testing or automated test systems is a plus A positive, solution-oriented attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and rapidly shift focus A strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability for your work A high level of commitment to safety practices and procedures

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
