This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Salt Lake City, UT. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Salt Lake City automation team. Basic Qualifications A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be a student who is either a sophomore or Junior enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026. Be majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026. Be available to work part-time (20 hours per week) year-round starting in the fall 2026. Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Have solid modeling experience using SolidWorks software. Be proficient in at least 1 programming language (Python, Matlab, C, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher Have experience with robotics Have an understanding of basic electronics (wiring diagrams, components, etc.) Have a basic understanding of engineering measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, etc). Be comfortable working in a group environment.
